This picture that i found from website found by the link above represents law vs. ethics. This relates to our readings in chapter one, specifically page 4. The notion that we don't need ethics because we have laws in place to decide what right and wrong to me has an easy answer. We need ethics because laws are simply made up and decided my a person or group of people. We learned about majority view in a later chapter and based on that principle you cant just assume a law is justified because a group of people said it is. Think about back in Americas early history, by law slaves had to abide by there masters bidding and by law any one who discovered a run away slave had to report them. What if this was still a law today? We now know today that this was a very un-ethical law.
